XSPRESS2 is a unique adaptive pulse processing technology for ultra-dilute spectroscopy applications. Instead of a fixed "shaping time", the system samples at 80MHz and provides the optimum count rate / noise ratio for each data point. The readout system is highly capable of reading out both germanium multi-element detectors and silicon drift diode systems.
The system has been upgraded and implemented on the Diamond Light Source at beamlines B18, I18 and I20 (Scanning Branch)
"The data are really impressive. The first set of EXAFS spectra (those at various count rates) clearly shows that the dead-time correction is reliable even up to 0.5Mcps. High count rates are really crucial at modern synchrotrons as the fluxes are becoming ever higher." Konstantin Klementiev, CLÆSS Beamline, ALBA, Barcelona
A non exhaustive list of papers written using the XSPRESS system is available here

High quality components in a clear layout ensures correct connections and easy setup

Secure connections, precision contacts, high reliability and premium materials ensure perfect connections every time

1U wide units enable even the largest systems to be packed tidily

No practical channel limit on the system. Recently commissioned at Diamond on a 36 channel multielement germanium detector
Count rate Limited in hardware design to 5x10^6 counts/ channel/ second.
