ULTRA Detector for Lasers

The ULTRA system was conceived to provide the UK with a world leading ultrafast spectroscopy research facility.

The ULTRA detector is a key part of that ultrafast LASER detector system, allowing the high repetition, (>20KHz) ultrafast, intense (>10W av power) LASER pulses to be exploited in the analysis of dynamic spectroscopy.

In addition to the above applications, ULTRA behaves ideally as an X-Ray sensitive fast 1D detector with a reverse illuminated silicon strip installed. See the ULTRA for X-Rays page for more details.

Gigabit Ethernet for easy connectivity

Simple, straightforward ethernet port for connecting the unit direct to a PC up to 100m away

Precision machined and bolted to ensure perfect alignment

>100 bolts are fixed by hand, hours of milling by top end CNC machines and over one hour of welding by hand.

Low environmental impact

The ULTRA System is manufactured using high quality, low toxicity components.

Coated with Surtec 650 to block EMI

Electromagnetic Interference causes noise in results. This is blocked out of the ULTRA System by the highly conductive coating.
This special coating also prevents corrosion up to 60 ºC

Swappable heads for multiple configurations

Buy two heads, one sensitive to visible light and one to UV.
